The Abeka program continues into kindergarten with a strong phonics emphasis that introduces blends and allows your child to read stories including one- and two-vowel words. It improves your child’s hand-eye coordination through learning to write letters, words , and eventually sentences. They will also enjoy daily Bible lessons about Genesis and the life of Christ. It will also introduce your child to math with counting and basic arithmetic lessons. This program has everything to prepare your child for 1st grade.
The Abeka programs will give your child the skills needed to develop a lifelong love for reading. Our phonics-based reading program will improve reading comprehension and speed. The language arts and penmanship program will develop creative writing skills and teach grammar. In the final quarter of 1st grade, students learn to write in cursive. Students will learn arithmetic and problem-solving skills as well as explore history, science, and health. The combination of these subjects will help your child better understand the world God made. Each of these programs is rounded out with lessons about Biblical characters and Bible memory verses.
